Improve a prompt that is not working

Why it works

The diagnosis is worth more than the rewrite, because it transfers to the next prompt.

“What I described that I should have shown” catches the most common prompt failure by a distance: adjectives where an example belonged. Two worked examples beat a paragraph of describing the format you want.
